Lloyd Labra [1600x1200]Despite her sensational performance in the UAAP Season 75 volleyball finale, Finals MVP Michele Gumabao has decided to forego her last playing year with the Lady Spikers in order to focus on her graduation pre-requisites as well as her budding showbiz career.

Initial insider reports have already disclosed Gumabao’s intention to venture into the show business after completing her undergraduate degree in BS Marketing Management. Currently, she is on her last academic term in La Salle, with only her thesis and practicum requirements to go before her graduation this October.

Undeniably one of the most popular collegiate female athletes in the country to date, this Lady Spiker has swept not just volleyball stat sheets but also television screens with several appearances recently after the conclusion of the UAAP championship.

After her appearances in multi-awarded shows such as “Gandang Gabi Vice”, “Banana Split” and “Minute to Win It”, it has become inevitable that the Lady Spiker will soon take over the showbiz world as well.

“The way she acts as a guest and the way she conducted herself during those shows showed not only na mana siya sa dad and brother niya but she is also ready for the celebrity life,” says ABS-CBN’s Boy Abunda.

Coming from a clan synonymous to show business, it is of no doubt that Gumabao, with her good looks and performances on court, makes sure that she follows her father’s footsteps to fame. Her father, former actor Dennis Roldan, and her brother, teen star Marco Gumabao, have already established themselves in the business and it is not surprising that this DLSU stunner will soon venture into show business after an impressive career in collegiate volleyball.

Gumabao has reportedly received offers from three local television stations but is rumored that she has also received an offer from a major firm in the United States responsible for managing international icon Shakira.

The source, who requested anonymity, said “Michele definitely has what it takes to become the next big international star. She’s got the star power and I don’t think it’s far-fetched to assume that she’s going to be an international household name in the next decade.”

“She is next in the line of amazing and spectacular showbiz superstars to come from DLSU,” says Abunda. “She will not disappoint!”
