This coming May, Nike will unveil Jeron Teng’s very first signature basketball shoes, the “Jeron One”. The popular forward who led the Green Archers to the UAAP championship is an avid collector of shoes from legendary NBA players. Now, Teng’s dream of launching his own shoe line has come to reality.

Sobrang happy ako kasi ever since dream ko talaga magkaroon ng sarili kong shoe line. And sobrang thankful ako sa Nike for giving me this unique opportunity,” Teng proudly shares.

The opportunity came when Teng visited a Nike Store and could not decide which shoe to purchase. Teng was asked to describe what shoe he would like to wear, but none of Nike’s current basketball shoes fit his descriptions. The Finals Most Valuable Player was displeased and came home empty-handed. A week later, Nike Philippines invited Teng back to the store where he was given a shoe that matched his specifications. Nike and Jeron agreed to call the signature shoe, the “Jeron One”.

“I could not decide weather to get the new Kobe’s or the new Lebron’s. Luckily, Nike surprised me with a hybrid of both. Sobrang nagulat talaga ako,” Teng shared. “I couldn’t wait to show it to my family and teammates.”

The “Jeron One” is made of light material despite its bulky look. It is designed for durability and mobility to allow aggressive players like Teng to drive to the lane with ease. Estimated retail costs for the shoe will be on the 4,000 to 5,000 Php range, a few thousands cheaper than the Kobe and Lebron shoe line.

Teng notably collects the Jordan line of shoes by Nike and shares that he still lacks a couple from the collection. A self-confessed sneaker-head, Teng also collects shoes from his idols Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.

The 6”2 standout from Xavier School averages 14 points and six rebounds per game in his team’s UAAP championship run. He is one of the most prolific scorers in the amateur ranks to date, and he appears in many endorsements like Milo, Samsung, and Enervon among others. Now, Teng also becomes an official endorser of the international athletic line, Nike.

Notably, the “Jeron One” is history-in-the-making, as Teng will be the first Filipino basketball player to have a personalized Nike shoe line available for sale to the public.

Teng has since worn the shoe twice in a basketball game, and he also uses it causally when in school. “If you’re going to be on your feet, you need to wear something that’s going to actually enhance your game.” Teng praises about the shoe.

With his upcoming signature shoe, the “Jeron One” set to be released, Teng’s popularity is set to rise even more. And as he prepares for another UAAP season, Nike hopes that the “Jeron One” can help Teng in his endeavors as one of the country’s fastest-rising young athletes to date.
